Hola- Lomba Menulis Cerpen 2015

Setelah sekian lama menyibukkan diri dalam dunia nyata, akhirnya bisa kembali megang pc. saking senengnya pengen jingkrak-jingkrak.

Untuk berbagi kebahagiaan -Heleh bahasanya- Saya ingin mengadakan lomba menulis, agan dan sista yang punya bakat silahkan ikutan ye, yang sekedar punya hobi juga boleh banget ikutan.
Lomba terbuka untuk umum.

Syarat

1. Gaya bahasa bebas
2. Tidak mengandung SARA dan Pronografi
3. Tulisan dikirim ke : vladimirralf00@gmail.com dalam format .doc atau .docx dengan font Times New Roman 12, spasi 2, margin standard, ketebalan minimal 3 halaman dan maksimal 7 halaman
4. Cerita Harus bersettingkan salahsatu tempat di dunia ex. Indonesia- Sumedang
5. Genre bebas, tapi kalau mau buat genre Sport lebih bagus :)
6. Karya yang diikutkan menjadi milik panitia
7. Membuat Sinopsis maksimal 250 kata di notes fb dan tag me (Vladimir Ralf) atau bagi yang ga punya fb boleh lewat twitter (@VladimirRalf)
8. Lampirkan Biodata singkat di akhir tulisan

150 karya yang masuk akan saya usahakan untuk ajukan ke penerbit, tapi kalau di tolak, saya usahan untuk terbit secara self publishing.

La Memoria -24 " Valentine's Day"

There're several legend, and story about Valentine's Day. But What ever they say, it's all about love.

Banyak legenda maupun cerita yang berkembang tentang hari penuh kasih sayang ini, namun semuanya mengisahkan tetang cinta yang mendalam. hari ini di seluruh belahan dunia, orang-orang akan mendengarkan dan mengungkapkan kata penuh kasih sayang, untuk menunjukkan kepada orang yang mereka kasihi bahwa mereka memiliki cinta yang tulus.

Cinta dapat mengambil banyak wujud, seperti yang kepada orangtua, cinta kepada saudara, cinta kepada teman maupun cinta kepada kekasih.

Pada hari ini cinta tersebut berusaha di ungkapkan dengan pemberian hadiah seperti bunga, coklat (well, I never got one), dan sebagainya (sorry, cuma tau bunga dan coklat saja :D )

well I'm looking forward for next year is there someone who'll give me chocolate :D

La Memoria - 23 "Lincoln's Birthday"

Abraham Lincoln may be the greatest of all US presidents. He ended slavery, won the Civil War, and ensured that the United States would remain united in the modern world. His face is printed on the five-dollar bill and stamped on the penny. The Lincoln Memorial is one of the nation’s iconic sites.

 But Lincoln’s Birthday on Feb. 12 is not a national holiday, and it never has been. Nor is Lincoln officially remembered on a federal President’s Day in late February. That’s just not the case, despite a widespread belief to the contrary. 

 True, people have tried to make Lincoln’s birthday a US day of commemoration. One of the first was Julius Francis, a shopkeeper from Buffalo, N.Y. Beginning in 1874, he made the public remembrance of the 16th president his life’s mission, according to a 2003 Buffalo News article on the subject. He petitioned both Albany and Washington. New York went along and made Feb. 12 a state holiday. Washington and Congress did not. 

 Remember that for decades following the Civil War the South and North remained split as to how to remember its sacrifice and heroes. Days to remember the fallen arose on separate dates in the two regions. In was only with the nationalizing tragedy of World War I that these combined into the Memorial Day we now celebrate. 

 Thus, a national Lincoln holiday would have been controversial to many in the South until well into the 20th century. Perhaps that’s why Congress as a whole remained resistant.

 In February 2001, Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, a Maryland Republican, made a final try at raising Old Abe’s holiday profile by introducing a “Washington-Lincoln Recognition Act.” This bill called for the legal public holiday known as “Washington’s Birthday” to be known by that name and no other. 

But it also requested that the president “issue a proclamation each year recognizing the anniversary of the birth of President Abraham Lincoln and calling upon the people of the United States to observe such anniversary with appropriate ceremonies and activities.” This legislation was assigned to the House Committee on Government Reform, and there it languished, unpassed. Thus, 203 years after his birth in humble circumstances in rural Kentucky, Abe Lincoln still doesn’t have a federal day to call his own.

La Memoria - 22 "Groundhog Day"

the legend just so unique, so I think Groundhog day should be the next issue 

Thousands of years ago when animalism and nature worship were prevalent, people in the area of Europe now known as Germany believed that the badger had the power to predict the coming of spring. They watched the badger to know when to plant their crops. By the time the first German immigrants settled in Pennsylvania they probably understood that this was not true but the tradition continued. Unfortunately there were not many badgers in Pennsylvania so the groundhog substituted the badger. 

Tradition has it that if the groundhog will sees its shadow on February 2 it will be frightened by it and will return to its burrow, indicating that there will be six more weeks of winter. If it does not see its shadow, then spring is on the way. Punxsutawney held its first Groundhog Day in the United States in the 1800s. The first official trek to Gobbler's Knob was made on February 2, 1887. It is said that Punxsutawney Phil (the groundhog) was named after King Phillip. He was called Br'er Groundhog prior to being known as Phil. Canada also celebrates Groundhog Day. 

 The groundhog, also known as the woodchuck or marmot, is believed to make weather predictions relating to winter and spring according to superstition. Movies, advertisements, cartoons and other media have portrayed the legendary role of the groundhog in popular culture. The term “Groundhog Day” is a phrase that is sometimes used to express if the same events or actions occur repetitively for a period of time. 

>>Groundhog Day dirayakan setiap tanggal 2 Februari, Berabad silam, orang percaya bahwa jika hari ini berawan dan groundhog muncul, maka musim semi akan datang lebih awal dan jika hari ini cerah, groundhog akan meundur kembali ke liangnya karena diduga ia melihat bayangannya sendiri dan memilih mundur, jika ini terjadi maka musim dingin akan berlanjut hingga sekitar enam minggu lagi. Tradisi mengamati perilaku groundhog ini masih bertahan hingga kini.

La Memoria - 21 "Martin Luther King Day"

Ah Halloween almost come, I can't wait... but before that, lets talk about another big Holiday.

Martin Luther King Day is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of January. It celebrates the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr., an influential American civil rights leader. He is most well-known for his campaigns to end racial segregation on public transport and for racial equality in the United States. Martin Luther King was an important civil rights activist. He was a leader in the movement to end racial segregation in the United States. His most famous address was the "I Have A Dream" speech. He was an advocate of non-violent protest and became the youngest man to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He was assassinated in 1968. In 1968, shortly after Martin Luther King died, a campaign was started for his birthday to become a holiday to honor him. After the first bill was introduced, trade unions lead the campaign for the federal holiday. It was endorsed in 1976. Following support from the musician Stevie Wonder with his single "Happy Birthday" and a petition with six million signatures, the bill became law in 1983. Martin Luther King Day was first observed in 1986, although it was not observed in all states until the year 2000. In 1990, the Wyoming legislature designated Martin Luther King Jr/Wyoming Equality Day as a legal holiday.

Built in 1865 as a novelty lookout point in the park, the castle now houses National Weather Service offices, but visitors can still enjoy the views from its upper floors.
